The River Exe: What's The Use? 2015

Commissioned by Ginkgo Projects and the Environment Agency, Nick undertook a research residency around the River Exe in Exeter as part of the flood defense redevelopment scheme.

This took the shape of researching via archival newspapers and in public libraries, attending community events such as historical society get togethers, and conversing with the public in the attire of the Dept. of Pubic Possibility (which basically means wearing a boiler suit and holding a clipboard).

The result was a risograph newsletter containing a lot of the research findings, including tales of a 3 foot long salmon caught in the river. The newsletter was distributed around venues and establishments on the river's edge for people to pick up for free.
